Email

You should first take
a look at the Email Documentation at Email Doc's.
Your outgoing mail should be your ISP mail but, you can use our SMTP
server. We support POP3 and IMAP. To send via POP or IMAP please setup
your email client to do SMTP-AUTHENTICATION on sending email.
Please
read! SMTP (email
sending)
For further Information on setting up OutLook
Express for sending email.
Your incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) should be mail.yourdomainname.com.
Your Outgoing SMTP should be mail.yourdomainname.com and your Login ID
is your full Email Address (username@yourdomainname.com). Password is
your regular email password.
To setup a new POP/IMAP account go to your site administrator URL:
http://www.yourdomain/login.html There you can add a new user which
will give you a new email account which will have unique user name and
password.
You can forward or create email aliases for each of your email accounts.

Frequently Ask Questions
I don't
like the Web Based Email that is in my Control Panel.
We also have SquirrelMail and IMP/Horde. To use these go to:
http://mail.yourdomain.com
I
tried everything listed here but I still
can't send email?
Some ISP's do not allow email to be sent if you are not using their
SMTP server as your Out Going Mail server. They might be blocking port
25. If this is the case you can try using port 587 for sending. Please
remember this is only for sending/out going email only. Also you might
have a firewall blocking the port.
How
do I set up an e-mail account to
forward to another account?
E-mail forwarding allows you to automatically forward e-mails that come
to a particular e-mail address at yourdomain.com to any other address
on Internet. Please see User's E-Mail Guide
for more information
I
have difficulties in retrieving mail
using Netscape. I can't log into my mail account because the account
user name now takes the form of the full e-mail address.
Write mail server login name in the Netscape preferences with the %
character instead of the @ sign, e.g. login: username%domain.com

How
do I pop in to pick up my virtual
domain email?
Virtual domain users need to use the following format for thier user
name when popping in:
user%virtual.domainname
Eudora
might require the following syntax:
user%virtual.domainname@pophost
Also you might have to enter this line into the eudora.ini file.
SMTPAuthBanished=CRAM-MD5,PLAIN
This stops all but Login authentication.

Microsoft
clients may take the following
syntax:
user@virtual.domain
If you don't include the %virtual.domainname, vpopmail will assume it
is either a /etc/passwd user or a vpop user in ~vpopmail/users or
configured with "default domain".
Microsoft
clients may take the following syntax for Proper SENT items box:
Q:
It turns out you need to set the "Root
folder path" in the IMAP
configuration for mail accounts to "INBOX." (no quotes).
Then it's OK to set the "Sent Items path" to "Sent".

I
can't send mail with Outlook
Express. I get a rcpthosts error.
You need to check your pop3 box before sending mail trough the server.
When the POP3 box is checked, you can send emails within the next 15-30
minutes.
How
do I get FormMail working?
It's a perl script. You need to add .pl as extension for CGI. You can
find it on the web options page.
